The Board of Trustees of 2020 Communications Trust is pleased to announce the appointment of Vanisa Dhiru as Executive Director for the Trust. Vanisa is a recognised leader in the not for profit sector, most recently as Chief Executive of Volunteering New Zealand.
“During the last three years, 2020 Trust has introduced several innovations that support our vision of digital literacy for all New Zealanders including Digital Skills for Jobseekers, a micropayment scheme for supporting families with internet access, and a new pilot scheme to support equity of access for schoolchildren to their own digital devices.“ says Laurence Millar, Chair of 2020 Trust.
“The appointment of Vanisa will allow us to expand our digital literacy programmes and ensure many more families and children are able to fully participate on-line.”
The Board of Trustees decided to appoint an Executive Director to support the current work of the Trust and to prepare for the expansion of core programmes including Computers in Homes, Stepping UP, ICDL and Living Heritage.
Vanisa Dhiru starts in the position in February 2015.
