The 2020 Trust is an energetic and fast-moving organisation, working to the vision that all New Zealanders fully participate in our digital world. Information about the Trust, and current trustees, can be found at www.2020.org.nz.
To support the growing need for our digital literacy programmes in the Auckland region, we are seeking two new trustees to join the Trust by the end of the year.
We are seeking a wider age diversity for the governance team, as well people with a true interest in the internet and digital inclusion. They must be digitally aware, have broad community networks in Auckland, particularly in South Auckland.
We need trustees that can complement our current networks and balance our skills. Our selection will be based on team and cultural fit as well and complementing existing governance strengths.
The Board of Trustees is focused on strategy, governance and oversight, providing operational direction to the Executive Director who was appointed in early 2015. The Trust has a Risk and Audit Committee, and may seek to build other committees and the strategy and direction of our organisation evolves.
Trust meetings are usually held in Wellington, five times a year (including the AGM) for 3-4 hours varying between 3-8pm. Trustees are reimbursed for expenses to attend Trustee meetings.
Shortlisted candidates will initially have a skype conversation with the Chair, and invited to an interview with another Trustee in mid September. Successful applicants will be invited to join our last Trustees meeting for 2015 on Monday 21 December.
Applications must include a cover letter and current governance CV and be submitted 5pm, Monday 31 August 2015. Late applications may be considered.
Closing date for applications: Monday 31 August 2015
Applications are to be submitted to the Chair of the Trust, Laurence Millar or online at Appoint Better Boards.
